At NaLEC, we are committed to empowering Latino pastors, leaders, and churches to thrive in their calling, grounded in biblical truth and cultural relevance. As the Scriptures teach in Proverbs 4:7, “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.” We believe that deepening theological education, strengthening church health, and advancing research are essential for equipping leaders to navigate the complexities of ministry and faithfully serve God’s people.
Our initiatives are contextualized to the unique realities of the Latino community, embracing the richness and diversity of our culture. They are designed to address the specific needs of Latino congregations and leaders, ensuring that each initiative is bilingual and culturally responsive. Through programs like the Graduate Certificate in Ministry & Biblical Theology, the Avance Thriving Congregations Initiative, the Oikonomia Initiative (Stewardship for Pastors and their Congregations), and the Strengthening Pastoral Leaders initiative, we aim to equip leaders with the tools they need to lead effectively, whether it’s through theological education, church revitalization, or financial crisis support.
In 1 Peter 5:2-3, the Bible calls church leaders to “be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be.” This reflects our mission to empower pastors and leaders to care for their congregations with wisdom, compassion, and integrity. Our initiatives seek to provide both spiritual and practical support, ensuring that pastors and church leaders can guide their communities with strength and resilience, even in times of transition or crisis.
We believe that these initiatives will help Latino churches grow stronger, deepen their impact, and continue to reflect Christ’s love in their communities for generations to come.
