The Oikonomia Initiative: Empowering Pastoral Leaders for Financial Stewardship
The Oikonomia Initiative, which launches on February 15th, is a dynamic program designed to equip pastors, ministry leaders, and congregations with the essential financial literacy and management skills needed to thrive in ministry. Through our interactive, bilingual courses, we provide pastoral leaders with practical tools and biblical insights for managing both personal and church finances. Our goal is to foster financial stability, responsible stewardship, and effective ministry planning in order to ensure long-term sustainability for leaders and their ministries.
The initiative offers self-paced, bilingual financial literacy courses covering key topics such as personal budgeting, managing pastoral income, long-term financial planning, and achieving financial balance. These courses have been specifically tailored for Hispanic pastors and leaders, acknowledging the unique financial challenges they face. Each course is designed to be both informative and practical, enabling participants to immediately apply what they’ve learned to their personal financial journey and ministry leadership.
Upon completion of the courses, pastoral leaders will have the opportunity to apply for a Crisis Matching Grant, which is designed to provide financial assistance during critical times. This grant is aimed at alleviating financial burdens, helping pastors and leaders overcome obstacles, and continuing their impactful work in their communities.
The Oikonomia Initiative also provides one-on-one financial navigation through our dedicated bilingual financial coaches, who will work with participants to create tailored strategies for managing their personal and ministry finances. Along with offering resources and training videos for denominational leaders, the initiative empowers pastors to be proactive in addressing economic challenges within their ministry.
